WLC Authors Give Back Blog Hop

It is my pleasure to present to you a guest post by author Elizabeth Ann West as part of the Gratitude Blog Hop organized by the Women's Literary Cafe! Please check the WLC site here for more information about the participating blogs and don't hesitate to hop in order to win fabulous giveaways!

I cannot believe I'm here. ::looks around:: You might be wondering where “here” is and I'll tell you. Right HERE, on the My Life One Story At a Time blog by Donna. And this isn't trite, let me explain.

September 13, 2011 I released my debut novel, CANCELLED. It's a chick-lit/romance with a twist from a guy's POV. About two weeks later, realizing marketing opportunities for brand new authors are either extremely expensive or booked until 2014, I decided to make my OWN marketing opportunity. A Trick or Treat blog hop. In finding authors, or actually desperately begging politely anyone with a novel out that would talk to me, I ran into the WLC founder, Melissa Foster.

Melissa Foster is a dynamo, million-miles-a-minute-kind-of-woman. Exactly the kind of person perfect to be my mentor in this crazy world we call publishing. During our second or third phone conversation, Melissa informed me I needed 30 blogs stat to do a blog tour. In 48 hours, I scrounged up 4 (I improved on my desperately begging politely skills). She then rewarded my hard work with a godsend. She had emailed HER bloggers and asked them to consider me for a review spot. Donna was one of the responders. Only she didn't have a spot until January 12, 2012. Again, my book will be reviewed here January 12, 2012. :)

What you don't know is I am one of the main organizers of this blog hop. I'm not sharing that for accolades. Are you kidding? I'm the lucky one who GETS to participate and organize these kinds of things for the WLC. But I'm sharing that to explain I've been crazy busy the last week pairing up twenty authors with twenty bloggers and getting everyone on the same, working page. Donna was one of the last bloggers to get in under the wire and I just so happened to be the last author paired up (the cook is always served last, of course). I was originally meant to be on another blog that fell through, but I'm ecstatic to be here. :)

See, when I originally queried Donna for the review spot back in September, I talked to her about her handsome German Shepherds. I grew up with a German Shepherd mix; the breed has a special spot in my heart. Last night, long past when this post was due, after I made sure everyone else was on the ball, I quickly clicked the link to the blog I was scheduled to post on. I recognized it the minute I saw the flowers and polka dots. I scrolled down and spied those smiling pooches on the left side. Immediately, my heart felt light because by fate and luck of the draw, my book was going to be here. Here on My Life One Story At a Time. And I couldn't be more grateful! I thought I had to wait until January!

So here's what I'm going to do. My book is completely free to everyone. Yep. Below is a link, click it and you can get the DRM free PDF straight from my site for free. All I ask is you take a glance at it sometime between now and January 12th so when Donna reviews it, hopefully all of us can make it more of a discussion that day than just a review. After all, Donna puts in so many long hours running this site, and as a blogger myself, there is nothing that makes a blogger/reviewer feel more special than a bunch of comments from his or her readers.

Thanks Donna, for all that you do, and please know that your blog is so uniquely designed, it stuck with me more than two months after my first glance.

Book Hook: A robotics engineer in love with his business partner has a previous one-night stand return his shirt. Pregnant. And it's his.

The WoMen's Literary Cafe is very thankful for all of the support from bloggers, reviewers, and readers during the Come Back To Me book launch and 99 cent event. As a thank you, we are giving away “CANCELLED” for free today only. Please click the picture of the book to go to the site and get the free PDF. The password is donnarocks

And don't forget to continue on the Blog Hop below for more great free ebooks.

(Donna, this goes in the HTML section to make the linky tool work)
